Intro to Socks!
Learn to make socks the quick and easy way! With worsted weight yarn and a wee sock! In this three hour class we will cover all the skills and techniques you need to make top down socks: stretchy cast ons, heel flaps + turning the heel, toe decreases and the kitchener stitch. We will also talk about what makes a good sock yarn and how to make comfortable, long lasting socks.
Smooth, worsted weight yarn, preferably wool.
Size US7 (4.5mm) needles of your choice: dpns or 24-32″ circular needles for magic loop
knit + purl stitches
knit a small tube in your choice of method (dpns, magic loop or 2 circulars)
long tail cast on
decreases (both k2tog + ssk)
NOTE: If you are not comfortable with all of these skills, please take a lesson on them first. It will be assumed you know them and we won't be covering them.
